Rasisminvastainen elävä kirjasto

Järjestämme 23.3. Seinäjoen kirjastolla. Kellonaika tarkentuu vielä, alustavasti klo 13–18 välillä.

Ideana on, että ihmiset saisivat ”lainata” ”elävän kirjan”. ”Kirjat” ovat eri taustoita olevia ihmisiä, eri kansalaisuuksia, etnisiä ryhmiä, kieliä; joihin kohdistuu rasistisia ennakkoluuloja. ”Lainaaja” ja ”kirja” kävisivät keskustelua kulttuurista, ennakkoluuloista ja muusta n. 5-25min. Tarkoituksena tutustua ja vähentää rasismia.

Olemme itse paikalla ja heti huikattavissa keskusteluun mukaan, jos yhtään tuntuu ikävältä.

Voisitko sinä tulla ”kirjaksi”? Tai tiedätkö jonkun muun, joka voisi? Mikä aika sinulle sopisi? Tarjoamme elävälle kirjalle pientä purtavaa vaivanpalkaksi.😊
Pyydämme ilmoittautumiset viimeistään 21.3. jotta saamme mainostettua tapahtumaa oikein.

We are organizing an anti-racism themed event at Seinäjoki library in 23rd of March. The exact time frame will be verified later, but it is very likely to take place between 1pm – 6pm.

The idea of this event is to establish a “living library”. The books of this library are the people who come from various ethnic and linguistic backgrounds, who may have been subjected to racial prejudice before in their lives and want to share their stories. Library customers can “borrow” one of these people to have a conversation about culture, prejudice, or a subject of their own choice for 5-25 minutes. The idea is to make new acquaintances and decrease racism in Seinäjoki. To show that we are all similar people despite our different backgrounds.

We are doing our best to make the meeting safe for everyone by being present in the library for the whole duration of this event. We offer snacks and refreshments for all the living books! 😊
